East Kintyre Community Council

On the north side of the B879, about a quarter of a mile east of the junction with the main road running up the east side of Kintyre, the B842, is the Carradale Network Centre, a heritage centre devoted to the story of Carradale and this part of the Kintyre peninsula.

Carradale Bikes and Buggies is situated at the Network Centre, owned by Network Carradale, a community business and registered charity. The Centre also includes a  refurbished Tearoom now trading, a Heritage Museum and (soon) a Tourist Information Office.

Currently one of Scotland’s less visited treasures, Carradale Harbour is located on the east side of the Kintyre peninsula which lies on Scotland’s west coast. The harbour looks out across the deep waters of Kilbrannan Sound towards towering mountains on the Isle of Arran, just 3 miles away. The Gulf Stream creates a milder climate here than is experienced further east in Scotland which makes this a desirable place to live or just to visit.

Welcome to the Carradale Goat - a weblog that isn't afraid to say what it means. Sometimes we'll be topical, sometimes we'll be obscure. We hope that we're often entertaining and perhaps a little bit irreverent.Whatever we are we hope you'll comment to our entries and tell us just what you think.
